A Comprehensive Approach to Street Dog Care

JGIN’s commitment to animal welfare is exemplified through its comprehensive dog campaigns. Since 2018 to the present date, the organization has conducted spaying, neutering, and rabies vaccination programs, reaching over 2,800 street dogs across various regions, particularly in the Terai (Kalaiya, Aurahi, Birgunj, Matihani, Bardibas, Sonama, Bhanga, Paluwa, Manara and Sisuwa) and several municipalities of Kathmandu Valley (Mahalaxmi municipality and Kritipur Municipality).

Our Approach

We believe in a holistic strategy that goes beyond medical intervention. By combining spaying, neutering, and rabies vaccination with community education and awareness, we address both the immediate health needs of street dogs and the long-term challenges of responsible animal care.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Preventive Healthcare: Comprehensive vaccination and sterilization programs
  • Community Empowerment: Training local Animal Management Assistant groups
  • Awareness Building: Educating communities about responsible street dog care

Why This Matters

Street dogs face numerous challenges, from health risks to community conflicts. Our programs aim to:

  • Reduce street dog populations humanely
  • Prevent the spread of rabies and other diseases
  • Improve the overall health and well-being of street dogs
  • Foster better understanding and coexistence between humans and dogs
